Parenting matters, and so does understanding how parents are faring

Parents and carers play a central role in children’s development and wellbeing. Yet, until now, Australia has lacked large-scale national data capturing the experiences and realities of parenting. This means parent experiences have not always been visible in policy, research and service planning.

Parenting Today helps address this gap by providing up-to-date evidence on parents’ strengths, the pressures they face, the support networks they rely on, and the broader social and environmental factors influencing family life.

A mother laughs and plays with her two young children. They are snuggled up on the couch together and enjoying quality family time.
